Friday Nov 11 2016 the Toronto Maple Leafs host the Broad Street Bullies aka the Philadelphia Flyers in the annual “Hall of Fame” game. The Flyers are 6th in the Eastern conference this season and currently on a 2 game losing streak. This is an interesting match up as the Flyers are currently 3rd in the NHL in goals per game and 2nd in power play percentage. On the flip side they have a bottom 10 PK% and are almost dead last in goals against per game. This could be an all out shootout with the Leafs on Friday night as the leafs are 29th in the league in goals against per game.

The usual suspects Claude Giroux and Jacub Voracek lead the Flyers in every offensive category and also have some of the worst +/- on the team which is kind of funny. Both goalies have brutal stats of over 3 goals per game and under a .900 SV%.

These two teams almost mirror each other with good offense and shaky defending and goal tending.  This could come down to what goalie decides to show up on Friday night but my guess is Anderson (if he plays)will be lights out.

The Leafs are coming off a 7-0 beat down handed to them by the LA Kings and then were run through a brutal practice at the hands of Mike Babcock. He even made them skate laps when the power went off in the Leafs practice facility. This could spell bad news for the Flyers as the Maple Leafs NEED to play better after that outing so i expect an uptempo pace on Friday night.

Keep an eye on:

Claude Giroux and if he can keep up his point per game pace

Defensive breakdowns for BOTH teams

What goalie decides to step up

Leaf rookies looking to make an impression(Hopefully Matthews breaks his scoring slump)
